Thank you for choosing 44 Spanish Street - Experience the best of St. Augustine from right outside our front door!

While the owners and staff are pretty easy-going; there are times when straightforward and firm policies are necessary:

*** COVD MASK POLICY: Similar to most businesses in St. Augustine, we are recommending that masks be worn while in public spaces on the property, but masks are not required for those who are fully vaccinated. ***

RESERVATIONS:
Confirmed reservations require a credit card guarantee and a deposit equal to the first night’s stay, per room reserved.
Premium rooms may require larger deposits for stays longer than 5 days; please inquire for specifics.

ROOMS: All rooms at 44 Spanish Street Inn are double occupancy only. We do not offer roll-away or other forms of additional beds.

CHILDREN: We are an adults-only property and often host guests who are on a "mommy-daddy getaway". Thus, young adults age 14 and up are welcome as guests, however, must be traveling with an adult. If traveling with a young adult, please keep in mind that our maximum room occupancy is two persons.

SMOKING/VAPING: We are a non-smoking/vaping property. Therefore, smoking and vaping is not permitted anywhere on the entire property including porches, courtyards, and (of course) rooms. If you are a medical marijuana user, our smoking policy still governs and you are encouraged to utilize your non-smoke/non-vape options while on property.
*Please note smoking of and/or vaping of any sort in a room will likely trip our fire alarms which immediately dispatch the fire dept. You will be charged a cleaning fee of up to $500.00 to your card and will face possible litigation for lost revenue, should other guests insist they are unable to remain on the property due to odors created from smoking or vaping. Any attempt to void or chargeback these fees will be met with legal action.

PETS: No pets are allowed on the property.

ROOM DAMAGE, TOWELS & LINEN FURNISHINGS: Due to an exponential rise in the volume of linens left severely damaged/ruined by guests, we, regrettably, are forced to make a change to our towel and linen policies. Our clean white towels are provided for BATHING-related purposes ONLY. The BLACK clothes (some of which are labeled "Makeup") are provided to assist in the REMOVAL OF MAKEUP. Please DO NOT use white towels for the removal of makeup or for any other purpose outside of bathing.
If you need "old towels" for any non-bathing-related task, such as; cleaning shoes, luggage, wiping up spilled beverages, etc... Please use the clean, old towels that we've placed in the bottom two drawers of the antique chest which is located in the 2nd-floor hallway. Spare black makeup cloths can also be found there.
Following is the cost per item that will be charged to your credit card, should we find towels and furnishings left irreparably damaged or stolen: Bath Towel: $20 Hand Towel: $15 Washcloth: $7 Bathmat/foot towel: $20 Bedsheets/Pillowcase (per piece): $20 Comforter/Coverlet: $150 Sham: $30 Decorative pillow: $40 Curtain Panel: $100 Please note: "Fitzgerald" bed linens average between $1600 - $2000 to fully replace the bed ensemble, unnecessary damage to these linens will be charged accordingly.

JETTED TUBS: In an effort to keep or jetted tubs well-maintained and in perfect operating condition, we do not allow outside products ie. bath bombs, bubble bath, etc.. to be used in the tubs. Unfortunately, these products can cause significant damage to the equipment.
Since we do keep our jetted tubs in good condition, breakdowns are extremely rare. However, due to delayed wait times of up to 48 hours for factory authorized service on these types of tubs, we do not refund or cancel reservations should a mechanical jet failure occur just before or during your stay.

CHECKING-IN/OUT
Check-in is at 3pm & Check-out is 11am.

We welcome arrivals at any hour. However, for those checking in before 3 pm or after 5 pm, please inform us in advance, we will gladly make arrangements with you.

Late check-outs are typically not available, however, arrangements can be made to utilize our parking for a few additional hours while we hold your luggage for you.

ARRIVAL & PARKING:
Upon arrival, park on the sidewalk area in FRONT of 46 Spanish (the white historic building just BEFORE you reach ours), turn on your hazards/flashers, then come to our office next door at 44 Spanish. We will gladly assist you with your luggage as well as provide you with a parking pass to our lot (located just 5 houses further down the block). The check-out process is the same as check-in, however, reversed. Please note: The parking pass MUST be returned upon check-out to avoid a $50.00 charge to the credit card on file for its replacement.

Payment Policy

RESERVATIONS:

*Confirmed reservations require a credit card guarantee via a deposit equal to the first night’s stay. If multiple rooms are reserved, then each one requires a deposit.

*Multiple room reservations for stays longer than three days may require larger deposits. Please inquire for specifics.

*Rates are based on double occupancy.
*Published rates include a hot daily breakfast and non-alcoholic beverages.
*Published rates do not include 6.5% sales tax and 4% local lodging tax.

*Should you have friends or family staying at another property and wish to invite them to breakfast; please make your request in advance to allow us to plan for them. An extra charge of $15.00 will apply for each guest invited to breakfast.

*All rates for unreserved rooms are subject to change, and may change without notice.

Management reserves the right not to honor third party rates or discounts published on third party sites.

Cancellation Policy

We know that unfortunately, even the best laid plans can sometimes go awry.
If you must cancel your reservation, please note the following:

We do not accept cancellations via email or voicemail. To cancel, please contact the property and speak with a staff member directly.

Cancellation fee for cancellations made more than 7 days prior to arrival: $50

Rooms cancelled within 7 days of scheduled arrival will result in forfeiture of the first night’s deposit, if we're unable to re-rent your room for like amount. IF we DO re-rent the room for like amount, only the $50.00 cancellation fee is applicable.

For multiple room reservations (2 or more rooms), 14 days advanced cancellation is required. If multiple rooms are reserved through a special contract, the policies noted in that contract shall govern.

No Show/No Call: Reservations who do not show or call will be charged the cost of their entire reservation. No exceptions.

IMPORTANT COVID-19 PANDEMIC CANCELLATION POLICIES:

Cancellations due to known, foreseeable, or expected events, such as Covid-19, or fear of travel due to such events, will fall under our standard cancellation policy. Therefore, any reservation made after May 15th 2020, will be subject to the following special cancellation policy:

If a reservation is cancelled GREATER THAN 7 days prior to arrival due to Covid- 19 concerns or illness, it may be canceled as normal with our standard $50 cancellation fee to apply. However, the $50 will be held as a credit toward a future stay.

Reservations cancelled WITHIN 7 days of arrival will, at the discretion of management, have the the full deposit returned in the form an in-house credit/gift certificate toward a future stay and will be valid for redemption for a period of 12 months from the original reservation date. Unfortunately, we are unable to make exceptions to this policy.
