Welcome to the Inn at Birch Lodge and the Mid-Century Motel at Birch Lodge

Historic Birch Lodge is situated on 40 acres of woods, lawn, and beach only 30 minutes north of St. Ignace, Michigan on Big Trout Lake. Located just west of the village of Trout Lake, MI, the lodge and motel are accessed by a wooded drive winding a quarter mile off of Co .Rt. H-40. View map.

This unique property has been the focus of family vacations for generations. As the new owners, we invite you to start a family tradition of your own. As a base to explore Michigan's Upper Peninsula, it is centrally located to many area attractions, or simply stay on the grounds and enjoy relaxation on the lake.

Terms & Conditions

• Check -in time is between 3:00 PM and 9:00 PM, Check-out is at 11:00 AM.
Late arrivals after 9:00 PM are asked to call our front desk in advance to make arrangements and may be subject to a $25 late arrival fee.
Late departures after 11:00 AM may be subject to a fee of 50% of daily rate.

• Good Night’s Rest Policy - To ensure the comfort and enjoyment of all our guests, Historic Birch Lodge Resort enforces a Good Night’s Rest Policy in our guest rooms.

• Smoking Policy - Historic Birch Lodge Resort is committed to the comfort of all our guests. Smoking, Including e-cigarettes, is prohibited in all internal spaces and guest rooms. Designated smoking areas are provided. Please dispose of all smoking material properly. Violation of this policy is subject to a recovery-fee to restore rooms to a smoke-free condition. Proper disposal of smoking material is the guest's responsibility.

• Recreational Equipment - Any use of Historic Birch Lodge Resort's recreation equipment and activities is done at participant’s sole risk. Historic Birch Lodge Resort shall not be liable for any injuries, loss, or damage to the participant or participant’s personal property resulting from the use of recreation equipment, regardless of whether it occurs as a result of Historic Birch Lodge Resort’s negligence.

• No-Party Policy - Historic Birch Lodge Resort has a strict “No Party” policy in all indoor and outdoor areas. Noise complaints are taken very seriously and may result in eviction without compensation.

• Cooking - Cooking is prohibited in all guest rooms and internal public spaces, including coffee makers, hotplates, and crockpots.

• No littering on Birch Lodge property. Please use provided waste and cigarette disposal receptacles located throughout the property.

• Music - No Audible personal music is allowed around the property, please use headphones.

• Glass - No glassware is allowed on the private sand beach.

• Pets are allowed in Pet Rooms only on Barking Package. Max Weight is 40 lbs. The Mid-century Motel has two pet friendly rooms, available on first come first serve basis. You MUST notify us if you are bringing your pet. I have read and agree to the written Pet Policy as posted. ________

• ATVs, ORVs, and Snowmobiles are welcome at Birch Lodge. Parking is available for trailers and RV’s in designated areas only. Please stay on the road and adhere to the posted speed limit of 12 mph. Vehicle maintenance is prohibited on property. I have read and agree to the written ATV//ORV/Snowmobile policy as posted. ________

Payment Policy

• Deposit of one night room and tax per room taken at time of booking. Remainder due the day of arrival.
• All reservations must be guaranteed with a credit card. We accept Visa, Master Card, American Express, and Discover Card

Cancellation Policy

•Cancellations/modifications 10 days or more in advance of arrival will be fully refunded.

• Early Departure Fee - If you check out prior to your scheduled departure date, a fee equal to 50% of the remaining room fee and taxes will be charged.

• Modifications of reservations within 10 days of arrival which result in lost revenue are subject to a 50% recovery fee of the lost revenue.
