The Castle Tavern is a traditional public house located in the very heart of the Yorkshire Dales, in the beautiful cobbled market place of Richmond. Close to the magnificent Norman Castle and only a short walk from the spectacular River Swale, this is a truly wonderful area for a holiday or short break.

The Castle Tavern is under the management of Kevin and Lis Dodd, who together with a small but hard working team of staff, offer a warm welcome, real ales and great home cooked food.

We pride ourselves on sourcing our ingredients as locally as possible. From award winning sausages for breakfast from Cockburns butchers to sumptuous puddings and tarts baked by Britain’s Best Bakery finalists Angel’s Share bakery, just a few short steps from the pub.

The Castle Tavern also boasts 5 beautiful, guest rooms. Bed and breakfast facilities are available to book all year round.
