Also refered to as ‘The Wild Poinsettia’ or ‘Pride of Our Nation’, this Flaming Red Forest Flower definitely emphasises that which runs through the veins of our beloved people: Love, Unity, Compassion. For us, the Chaconia represents the Imperishability of Life and the Continuity of Our Nation, which coincidently blooms on every Anniversary of our Country’s Independence.

Named in honour of Trinidad and Tobago’s last Spanish Governor of Trinidad and Tobago, Don Jose Maria Chacon, this flower is known for its long sprays of magnificent vermillion which captivates anyone with its fierce natural beauty. You will see this same Fiery Red on our National Flag and Coat of Arms, bearing the same symbolism, as the Chaconia harmonizes with all of our National Emblems.
