With the pre-authorization the hotel guarantees the temporary availability of the total amount of the stay, or part of it, to ensure that the credit card is valid. NO AMOUNT IS COLLECTED. In case of pre-authorisation with negative result the customer will be notified and the reservation will be cancelled. In this case the hotel will have no obligation to the customer. It’s a temporary block of a specific amount on a credit card. This operation does not generate any type of bank movement on the customer’s current account because it is not accounted for, therefore, IT IS NOT A CHARGE. The authorization is issued by the bank of reference, or by the operator of the credit card system. The Pre-authorization allows therefore to "book" an amount to verify the validity and the economic coverage of the credit card issued by the customer during the booking. This ensures the availability of the amount for the final booking confirmation
