Terms & Conditions

Welcome to, and greetings from, Culture Crossroads Inn. Appreciating fully that the opportunity to host you is a privilege, we pledge to do all in our power to make your stay with us a comfortable, enjoyable and memorable experience. Because the Inn is a shared space, however, success in this undertaking will require all guests to play their part by simply observing the policies contained in this section.

Check-in / Check out -
Standard check-In time is any time after 3 p.m. Standard check-out time is 12noon, unless specific arrangements are made with the Inn’s Management at least 24 hours prior to that time.

We are required by Law and Industry regulations to obtain certain “demographic” information from ALL guests, and we respectfully request your cooperation in this regard. The details are cited in our check-in documentation.

By signing the Guest Check-in Form, guests accept responsibility, not only for the key cards with which they are issued upon check-in, but also for all items located in the rooms to which they have been assigned, and also for all of the Inn’s property which they and their visitors make use of during the course of their stay at the Inn. (For security reasons, you are required to inform the Front Desk or Security immediately if your room key is lost.)

Visitors -
Visitors (i.e. persons visiting registered guests) are quite welcome at the Inn, but are not allowed access to guest rooms between 11p.m. and 7 a.m.

Meals
Breakfast (the only meal provided by the Inn) is served from 7a.m. – 9a.m., and all breakfast items must be consumed in the dining area. In fact, we ask all guests to assist us in preserving the Inn’s cleanliness and sanitation standards, by ensuring that all food consumption takes place in this area.

While guests are free to purchase food from suppliers of their choice, Culture Crossroads Inn disclaims all responsibility and / or liability for either the quality of such food and / or the consequences of its consumption.

Housekeeping -
For the duration of your stay with us, your room will be completely cleaned (with full linen and towel change) every three days. Daily room “tidyings” can also be availed to you. However, in an effort to minimize the level of intrusion into your personal space, these shall be undertaken only at your request. Housekeeping activity is carried out between the hours of 9.00 a.m. and 3.00 p.m.

Special housekeeping arrangements may apply to rooms which are subject to rebated / reduced rates, such arrangements to be agreed upon at check-in time.

Guest washer and dryer facilities are available between the hours of 9a.m. and 9p.m. The cost for this service is $10 USD per load. Detergent and fabric softener / freshener / anti-static sheets are included in this cost.

Compliance with the laws of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago -
Any violation of the laws of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago will result in immediate expulsion of the perpetrator(s) from the Inn’s premises, and notification of relevant law enforcement personnel. Specifically, no illegal substances or activities, including the consumption of alcohol by minors, are permitted at the Inn.

Disturbance / Noise Policy -
It is important to us that every guest’s stay is as peaceful and renewing as humanly possible. Accordingly, maintaining a quiet and relaxing environment on guest floors is of critical importance. For this reason, we manage “disturbance” complaints in the following manner:
• Upon the first legitimate complaint, we shall undertake to remind the registered guest responsible for the disturbance of his/her shared responsibility to preserve a peaceful environment.
• If there is a second complaint, the reminder will assume a more cautionary nature.
• In the event of a third complaint, the registered guest will be required to check-out of the Inn immediately. Accommodation fees will not be refunded.

Smoking Policy -
Culture Crossroads Inn is committed to providing a 100% smoke-free environment to all of its guests. Non-compliance will result in immediate check-out from the facility, a US$100.00 Smoke Sanitization Charge AND forfeiture of the Security deposit. Kindly note that, during peak season(s), the accommodation fees shall also be forfeited.

Energy Conservation Policy -
Guests are kindly requested to turn off all lights and other electrical items (except the fridge), when leaving their rooms. (The A/C may be left on if you intend to return in less than half an hour.)

Safety -
While the Inn is located in one of the island’s safest districts, guests are still urged to exercise adequate vigilance and proper caution when arriving at or departing from the Inn.

Electronic safes are provided in all rooms, and we encourage you to use them for the safekeeping of your valuables while you are off-site. That having been said, as is common practice in the industry, Culture Crossroads Inn does not accept liability for any loss of, or damage to, any items belonging to guests, wherever and however stored on its premises.

Payment Policy

Payment Policy -
Except by prior agreement, full payment must be made for guest accommodation by (or at) the time of check-in. Although cash (TT or US currency) will be accepted at the Inn, for security reasons, Credit and Debit Cards will be the preferred modes of payment for room and other related expenses. In keeping with normal commercial practice, valid photo ID will be required.

Security Deposit Policy -
A Security Deposit will be required upon check-in. If payment is being made by cash or Debit Card, an amount equal to one night’s room rate shall be lodged with the Inn upon check-in. Should Credit Card be the mode utilized for the Security Deposit, the relevant amount will merely be placed on hold.

Upon check-out, the lodged / held amount shall be refunded / released, net of any indebtedness of the guest to the Inn, as a result of any incidental expenditure, or loss of / damage to Inn property, by the guest or his / her visitors.

Any damage to rooms, or anything done or caused by the guest (or his / her visitors) which pre-empts or compromises future use of any of the Inn’s facilities, property or assets, will result in appropriate deductions from the Security Deposit, and a demand for additional funds, should the Deposit prove insufficient to cover the relevant expenditure. For clarity, this advisory includes loss of / damage to key cards, damage to furniture or fittings and permanent staining of towels or linen (hint: everyday make-up is the chief culprit, so we’ll be quite happy to provide facial tissue upon request).

Cancellation Policy

The cancellation of a reservation seven days or less before the indicated check-in date will result in the forfeiture of the 50% deposit made towards that reservation.
