Terms & Conditions

Personal and Property Damage: Guest(s) shall be solely responsible for any property damage, accident, injury, or loss sustained by any person including loss of money, jewelry, and any other items of personal property arising out of or in any way related to guest(s). Guest(s) shall inspect and be familiar with property use and application prior to using them. Guest(s) hereby agrees to indemnify and hold Gold Coast Family Cottages affiliates and/or owner harmless and not responsible for any and all claims including those of third parties arising out of or in any way related to guest(s) use of premises or the items of personal property therein. No lifeguard shall be on duty/present during any part of stay. Guest(s) use Lake at their own risk. Guest(s) assumes the risk of injury or other losses relating to any recreation activities and will not hold Gold Coast Family Cottages affiliates and/or owner responsible.

Smoking: Beginning May 1, 2010, the Michigan Smoke-Free Air Law prohibits smoking in most public places in Michigan. This law includes any workplace or hotel in Michigan. Guest(s) are strictly prohibited from smoking inside any buildings relating to Gold Coast Family Cottages including but not limited to the Office and Pineapple Suites. The guest(s) hereby agrees to pay for any damages caused by smoking including cleaning fees, burn marks, and any other damages. In addition to usage, storage of smoking paraphernalia, as defined as any equipment, apparatus, or furnishing that is used in or necessary for the activity of smoking, is prohibited inside any buildings relating to Gold Coast Family Cottages including but not limited to the Office and Pineapple Suites. This includes, but is not limited to, ashtrays, rolling papers, pipes, hookah pipes, cigarettes, cigars, e-cigarettes, and marijuana. Please be courteous and aware of your surroundings when choosing to engage in such behavior.

Pets: Gold Coast Family Cottages is a dog/cat (animal) free premise. No animals are permitted anywhere on the property.

Room Condition: Guest(s) shall leave premises in a neat and undamaged condition. The guest(s) is responsible for compensating for any damages and missing property of Gold Coast Family Cottages.

Occupancy: Each Pineapple Suite is able to safely house a maximum of six persons. Upon booking, guest(s) is responsible for correctly reporting the number of occupants. Only reported occupants are to stay and use premises. In addition, this agreement does not create a tenancy or residency.

Check-in: Unless otherwise agreed upon, check-in is at 3pm.

Check-out: Unless otherwise agreed upon, check-out is at 10am.

Gold Coast Family Cottages affiliates and/or owner reserves the right to change any “Terms and Conditions” without prior notice.

Payment Policy

Reservation Fee: A $100.00 per unit non-refundable reservation fee is due upon booking of Pineapple Suite(s). This amount may vary for third-party reservations. The reservation fee will be applied as a credit towards your final balance.

Payment Plan: 50% of the remaining balance is due by March 1st. If time of booking is after March 1st, then 50% of agreed upon price is due at time of reservation. The full balance is due upon check-in.

Gold Coast Family Cottages affiliates and/or owners reserve the right to change any “Payment Policy” without prior notice.

Cancellation Policy

When a guest makes a reservation with Gold Coast Family Cottages, a mutual agreement is formed. Gold Coast Family Cottages agrees to remove the guests’ specific room and dates from all marketing and promotional materials, third-party websites, as well as turn away other guests who desire that selection. In exchange, the guest ensures that they will be present for the time of their reservation. As a small, family-owned business, each cancellation affects Gold Coast Family Cottages greatly. For this reason, the cancellation policies below are enforced upon manager discretion.

Direct Reservations: Cancellations that are requested before March 1st will have all money refunded, less the $100 non-refundable reservation fee. Cancellations that are requested after March 1st will have all money refunded, less the half-down payment and $100 non-refundable reservation fee.

Third-Party Reservations: Third party reservations are subject to the cancellation policy agreed upon by guest(s) at time of booking. This varies from “Direct Reservations” solely based on the conditions enforced upon Gold Coast Family Cottages by the third-party.

Late Arrival and Early Departure: No discounts nor refunds will be awarded upon late arrival or early departure of guest(s). Travel insurance is readily available and affordable through third-party providers to protect guest(s) from such events should they choose to independently purchase.

No Shows: If no arrangements are made for a late arrival by 9pm on the beginning date of reservation, the Pineapple Suite will be released to marketing and promotional materials, third-party websites, and any guest(s) who desires a reservation. The no-show guest(s) will be expected to forfeit the full balance of scheduled stay.
