Terms & Conditions

The House of the Redeemer, a "place apart", based in the Episcopal tradition, is open to all. Housed in a land-marked building, we provide hospitality through worship, spiritual renewal, and cultural and community events.

We request that all guests who are coming to NYC to stay with us are coming for retreat, business with NFP/charities, or medical treatment--or reasons of that nature--and not for the purposes of tourism.

The House office is open Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. during July and August) Check-in is at 3pm; checkout is at 10am.* Please inform the House of your expected arrival time. If you are unable to arrive during office hours, you will need to contact the House office in advance to make special arrangements (at least 48 hours in advance). We will do our best to accommodate you, but under no circumstances will we check in guests after 8 p.m. The House office is not staffed on a 24-hour basis.

*A space to store luggage will be provided if you should arrive before the above check-in time.

We are unable to accommodate guests with ambulatory challenges, as the House is not fully accessible to those with physical challenges and any emergency evacuation or the possibility of elevator outage will include use of multiple stairs.

No guests under the age of 16 are permitted to stay at the House. Please note that the House cannot accept deliveries (i.e., packages) for guests. Please be aware that the House does not have central air-conditioning.

Our rooms are comfortable and clean. There are no phones, televisions or clocks in the rooms. Towels, soap and linens are provided. All rooms have twin beds, including the doubles. There is no laundry service, parking, or meal service provided. We ask that no food or alcoholic beverages (water is permitted) be consumed or stored in the guest rooms.

**Persons not registered as guests of the House are not permitted on the guest room floors.

The House of the Redeemer is a retreat house in the Episcopal tradition. Our guests are people of all religions who wish to enjoy an environment of peaceful, prayerful quiet during their time with us. There is an Episcopal priest in residence who serves as Chaplain (September 3-June 30). Prayer services are held in the Chapel (2nd floor) twice per day, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Eucharist on Tuesday evenings and Thursday mornings. You are encouraged to attend.

We look forward to your stay with us; a place dedicated to providing peace and serenity for those who seek “a place apart.”

Cancellation Policy

This 25% deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable upon cancellation.
