Mare Nostrum Oued Laou

Mare Nostrum is a hidden gem which lies on a mountain between and in close proximity to the 'blue Pearl' town Chefchaoen, and the waterfalls of Akchor, as well as the historic city of Tetouan. Guest house with 10 bungalows facing the splendid Mediterranean Sea, delicious restaurant, infinity pool and an almost private beach.

Built in early 2000, using the rocks and stones that lie in the ground of the property, by some of the same individuals who continue to oversee the establishment today. We pride ourselves in sustaining a fully independent energy system. In an effort to be truly environmentally friendly and natural one day, we produce the water using natural wells in the mountain, while the electricity is generated in house using our 2 main gas and diesel fueled generators.

The pool has a story of its own that is tied to the sea, if the Mediterranean is calm and safe, the pool comes alive. Surrounded with organic fruit and vegetable gardens, this place is truly a natural product of its environment.
