Welcome to Oban Backpackers!
Oban Backpackers is perfectly located to enable you to make the most of your time in Oban. Just a 10 minute stroll from the bus, train and ferry terminals, our friendly hostel has everything you will need after a great day out exploring.

We offer dormitory style accommodation within our 7 hostel bedrooms. Our smallest room sleeps 6 people and our largest sleeps 12. We have wide, comfortable, spacious bunk beds, and they come made up with fitted sheets, duvets and 2 comfy pillows so there is no need to bring your sleeping bag.

Our fully equipped self- catering kitchen has everything you will need to cook up your favourite meals and there is plenty of storage and fridge space available for you to use.
Our big cosy lounge boasts a real coal fire, pool table, comfy sofas, free tea, coffee & hot chocolate, free WiFi, musical instruments, games, book swap and loads of info on the local area.

The Oban Backpackers team are a friendly bunch who know the surrounding area like the backs of their hands and are willing to help so don’t be shy! Come and have a chat at reception and we can make sure you make the most of your time in Oban.

Jo-Jo’s Hostels Ltd

Please bring suitable photographic identification – you will need it to check-in to our hostel.
Acceptable forms of identification include a passport or drivers licence.
If any guest within your booking is under the age of 18 you MUST contact us before making the reservation online.
As our accommodation is comprised of bunk-style dormitory rooms, we can only accept families with children if a whole room has been booked for sole occupancy. We CANNOT accommodate children in dorm rooms with other guests.

Please contact the hostel reception on 01631 562107 if you wish to make a booking that includes children.

Unfortunately, due to past experiences, WE DO NOT ACCEPT STAG OR HEN PARTIES.

Check In/Out Procedures:
Our reception is open for check in from 17.00 - 22.00

If you think you may arrive later than 22:00pm, please give us a call beforehand on 01631 562 107.

Check out is by 10.30am on the day of your departure – please vacate the room and return the keys by this time.

Accommodation:
All bunks are individually named and will be allocated upon check in at the hostel. Please ensure that you use the specific bunk allocated to you and inform reception of any problems immediately so that they may be rectified as soon as possible.

The Nitty Gritty:
The hostel reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone who behaves in an unacceptable manner or is in an unsuitable condition e.g. drunk and disorderly. In such circumstance no refund will be offered.
Our hostel operates a strict no smoking policy. Anyone found smoking within the premises will be fined a £50 deep cleaning fee, will be asked to leave and no refund will be offered.
Although the hostel is not licensed to sell alcohol, guests may consume alcohol on the premises but within reason. Anyone heavily under the influence and causing a disturbance in the hostel will be asked to leave immediately.

Use of Personal Information:
Jo-Jo's Hostels Ltd is committed to protecting your personal data, and in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which comes into effect 25.05.18, we’ve updated our privacy policy. As a hostel, we collect personal information when making reservations and at reception. The type of information we take is:
Guest name
Telephone number
Date of birth – asked for at check in.
Gender
Nationality
ID (passport, driving licence) -required only at check in.
Email
Date of arrival and departure
Credit card details, including the CVV number (3-digit number on the back of the card) when booking is made over the phone or via our online check in form-secure platform, Mews.
Jo-Jo's Hostels Ltd respects your personal information, and will not share it with any business or third party.

Liability:
Guests will be expected to reimburse Jo-Jo's Hostels Ltd for any damages caused by inappropriate behaviour during their stay.
Please make sure you have adequate travel insurance. We can’t take responsibility for any lost/ stolen/ damaged property.

Force Majeure:
Reservations are subject to cancellation at any point due to Force Majeure, refunds will be issued where appropriate.

Payment Policy

Payment Policy:
The amount equal to the first will be charged at the time of booking. The balance is payable at check in on your arrival date

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations made more than 24 hours prior to arrival will receive a 90% refund.
Cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to arrival are non-refundable.
(Please note that in order to receive a 90% refund; you must cancel prior to 12.00 noon the day before your booking is due to commence).

Guests booking through Booking.com: Booking and Cancellation Policy:

The guest can cancel free of charge until 7 days before arrival. The guest will be charged the total price if they cancel in the 7 days before arrival. If the guest doesn’t show up they will be charged the total price.
The guest will be charged a prepayment of the total price at any time.

Group Cancellation and Booking policies apply to all groups containing 10 guests or more.
Group Bookings:
To make a booking for a group of 10 guests or more, please contact us on 01631 562107.

Group Cancellation Policy:
If a booking is cancelled 21 days or more before it is due to commence, we will refund 90%
If a booking is cancelled 14-20 days before it is due to commence, we will refund 50%
If a booking is cancelled 7-13 days before it is due to commence, we will refund 25%
If a booking is cancelled less than 7 days before it is due to commence, we will refund 0%
