Pitlochry Backpackers is an old Victorian hotel, bursting with character. We offer a range of rooms - Dormitory (4-8 beds), Twin and Double rooms (Our Twin & Double rooms are all En-Suite) and our rooms have been recently refurbished. Our comfy beds come complete with bedding so there is no need to worry about carrying a sleeping bag and our self catering kitchen has everything you will need to prepare your favourite dinner.

Pitlochry Backpackers Hotel Terms and Conditions:

Please Note:
Please bring suitable photographic identification – you will need it to check-in to our hostel.
If any guest within your booking is under the age of 18 you MUST contact us before making the reservation online.

Check In/Out Procedures:
Check in is from 14.30pm (5pm during low season), but early arrivals are welcome to store their luggage and use the hostel facilities and common areas. Please feel free to help yourself to complimentary tea, coffee and hot chocolate.
If you think you may arrive later than 22:00, please give us a call on 01796 470 044 so that we may inform our night porter of your late arrival. We are open for check-in up until 24.30 Sunday-Thursday and 0200 Friday & Saturday. Please note, we cannot accept arrivals later than this, as the premises are locked between 24:30 and 07:00 (Sun-Thur) and 0200-0700 (Sat-Sun).

All guests are required to sign in and have valid photo identification for check in. Acceptable forms of identification include a passport or drivers licence.
A refundable deposit of £10 cash or a valid photographic ID will be required for the dormitory room keys.

Check out is by 10.30am on the day of your departure – please vacate the room and return the keys by this time. You are more than welcome to store your bags in our luggage storage area throughout the day, free of charge.

Accommodation:
We have a range of different rooms within our hostel that include private and dormitory style rooms. Children are welcome in our hostel and we have several private rooms and a family room that sleeps 4. If your family group is larger than 4, please note the following policy.
We can only accept families with children within a dormitory room if a whole room has been booked for sole occupancy. We cannot accommodate children in dorm rooms with other guests.

Unfortunately, due to past experiences, we do not accept stag or hen parties.

All bunks are individually named and will be allocated upon check in at the hostel. Please ensure that you use the specific bunk allocated to you and inform reception of any problems immediately that they may be rectified as soon as possible.

General Information:
Unacompanied guests must be aged 18 or over, unless by prior arrangement with the hostel reception staff.
The hostel reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone who behaves in an unacceptable manner or is in an unsuitable condition eg. drunk and disorderly. In such circumstance no refund of deposit will be offered.
Our hostel operates a strict no smoking policy. Anyone found smoking within the premises will be asked to leave, with no refund offered.
Although the hostel is not licensed to sell alcohol, guests may consume alcohol on the premises but within reason. Anyone heavily under the influence and causing a disturbance in the hostel will be asked to leave immediately.

Payment Policy

The amount equal to the first night will be charged at the time of booking. The balance is payable at check in on your arrival date.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations made more than 24 hours prior to arrival will receive a 90% refund.
Cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to arrival are non-refundable.
(Please note that in order to receive a 90% refund; you must cancel prior to 12.00 noon the day before your booking is due to commence).

Guests booking through Booking.com: Booking and Cancellation Policy:

The guest can cancel free of charge until 7 days before arrival. The guest will be charged the total price if they cancel in the 7 days before arrival. If the guest doesn’t show up they will be charged the total price.
The guest will be charged a prepayment of the total price at any time.

Group Cancellation and Booking policies apply to all groups containing 10 guests or more.

Group Cancellation Policy:
If a booking is cancelled 21 days or more before it is due to commence, we will refund 90%
If a booking is cancelled 14-20 days before it is due to commence, we will refund 50%
If a booking is cancelled 7-13 days before it is due to commence, we will refund 25%
If a booking is cancelled less than 7 days before it is due to commence, we will refund 0%
