Dating back to 1896, it was strategically positioned at the crossroads of North Carolina's primary North/South and East/West railways. As passengers arrived and often awaited their next day's journey, The Star Hotel served as their place to rest for the night. Though not termed a "Bed & Breakfast" back then, it effectively was just that: a place where travelers rested, began their day with a hearty breakfast and then resumed their journey. Today, The Star Bed & Breakfast remains an ideal resting point. Major cities are within easy reach: Pinehurst is a mere 30 minutes away, while Greensboro and High Point are just 45 minutes. Even Charlotte and Raleigh can be reached in a 90-minute drive. Join us for a blend of historic charm and modern convenience.

Booking Agreement: Upon reserving a room through our website, you acknowledge and consent to the following terms and conditions. Please note that these are industry standards.

Reservations:
• Individual Bookings: Reservations require card details (we accept all major cards). These details are shared with the hotel to guarantee your stay. Payment in full is expected at check-in. A booking is only confirmed when you receive an email or fax with a reference number. Please keep this number handy during your visit.
• Group Bookings: Reservations for 5 rooms or more have distinct conditions. For details, please email starhotelbedandbreakfast@gmail.com.
Cancellations:
• Individual Bookings: Cancel by 2:00 pm, 24 hours before your planned arrival to avoid charges. Late cancellations or no-shows will be charged one night's stay. Special rates and packages may have unique cancellation terms.
• Group Bookings: Cancellations for group bookings must be communicated directly to our hotel. Unless otherwise stated in writing, full will be charged for late cancellations or no-shows.
Non-Smoking Policy: For a healthy environment, smoking is strictly prohibited throughout the hotel. Non-compliance will result in a USD $200.00 penalty.
Child Policy: We welcome guests of all ages. Children up to 2 years can share their parent's room for free, with cots available upon request. Children 18 and under must stay with an adult.
Photo ID: All guests must present photo identification upon check-in.

Payment Policy

Hotel Payment Policy

Introduction:
At Star Hotel bed and Breakfast, we strive to ensure a smooth and efficient payment process for our guests. To achieve this and to avoid any misunderstandings, we kindly request all guests to familiarize themselves with our payment policy outlined below.

Payment Methods:

We accept major credit/debit cards, including Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.
Cash payments are accepted; however, a valid credit/debit card may still be required for reservation guarantee purposes.

Upon Booking:

A valid credit/debit card is required to guarantee the reservation.
For standard rates, a pre-authorization equal to the first night's stay will be held on the card. This is not a charge but a hold to confirm its validity.
Non-refundable rates will be charged in full upon booking.
At Check-in:

Guests are required to present the credit/debit card used for the booking.
Full payment for the entire stay, along with a security deposit for incidentals, will be taken upon check-in.
Security Deposit:

A deposit will be pre-authorized on your credit/debit card upon check-in to cover incidental charges.
The amount will vary depending on the length of stay and room type but is typically equivalent to one night's stay.
Upon check-out, any unused portion of the deposit will be released.
Additional Charges:

Room charges, including food, beverages, room service, and other incidental charges, will be added to the guest's bill and must be settled upon check-out.
Currency:

Taxes and Service Charges:

Late or Failed Payments:

Refunds:

Check-out Extensions:
Extended check-outs after 12:00 pm may incur additional charges. If the extension is required, please notify the front desk as soon as possible.

Cancellation Policy

Hotel Cancellation Policy

Introduction:
We understand that travel plans can change. At Star Hotel Bed and Breakfast, we aim to accommodate such changes while considering our business needs. Please familiarize yourself with our cancellation policy outlined below.

General Cancellations:

Reservations may be canceled without any charges up to 48 hours before the check-in date.
Cancellations made less than 48 hours before check-in will incur a charge equivalent to one night's stay.
No-shows will be charged the full amount of the reservation.
Peak Season & Special Event Cancellations:

During peak travel seasons or special events, cancellations must be made at least 72 hours before the check-in date to avoid charges.
Cancellations made less than 72 hours before check-in during these periods will incur a charge equivalent to two night's stay.
Group Bookings:

For reservations of 5 rooms or more, a 7-day advance notice is required for cancellation without penalties.
Late cancellations will be charged 50% of the total reservation amount.
No-show group bookings will be charged the full reservation amount.
Refunds:

Applicable refunds due to cancellations will be processed within 10 business days.
Refunds will be made to the original payment method used during booking.
Modifications:

Changes to reservations, such as date shifts or room type changes, can be made without charges up to 48 hours before the check-in date, subject to availability.
Modifications within 48 hours of check-in may incur additional charges, depending on the nature of the change.
Special Offers & Non-Refundable Rates:

Rooms booked on special offers, discounted rates, or non-refundable rates cannot be canceled or modified. Full payment will be forfeited in case of cancellation or no-show.
Force Majeure:

In the event of unforeseen circumstances beyond the control of both parties (e.g., natural disasters, pandemics, etc.), guests may be allowed to cancel without charges. Such determinations will be made on a case-by-case basis.
Communication:

All cancellations or modifications must be communicated through official channels: either through the booking platform used, the hotel's official website, email, or phone.
Confirmation:

Ensure you receive a cancellation confirmation via email or text after canceling a reservation. This serves as proof of your cancellation and ensures clarity between the guest and the hotel.
