The Inn is located in Downtown Historic Tilton. We are very close to many locations that are fun for all members of the family including: The Tanger Outlet Malls, 5 Ski Resorts, The Loudon Nascar Track, and much more!
The original inn was built in 1875 and has hosted a few famous guests including Thomas Edison and Henry Ford. The building has burnt down three times in the past all with a span of approximately 100 years separating them. One of these particular fires is said to have claimed the life of a 12 year old girl, named Laura, who is suspected to have never left. Her family lived here at the Inn in the 1800s, in what is now known as the Sanborn room. There have been many encounters with her both upstairs in the rooms, and downstairs in the pub and restaurant. Under the previous owner, TAPS Rhode Island investigative team came to the inn to deduce whether there really was paranormal activity here or not. The conclusion? There definitely is! All of our rooms are uniquely designed with different themes. Each room, although varying in size, has a private bathroom equipped with either a full bath tub, or a single shower, and flat screen TV with cable. The room rates listed are our rack rates not including tax, but feel free to call us as we may have rooms on special. During peak times of the year we may have blackout dates and premium rates. All our rooms are non smoking and will carry a hefty cleaning cost if you opt to smoke in the room. Please see terms and conditions.

Terms & Conditions
Thank you for choosing to stay with us at the Tilton Inn. Below are the hotel policies and procedures; please read them carefully. As our hotel guests, by reading and signing your check-in slip or by booking a reservation on line either through our web site or with a booking engine, you are agreeing to abide by our hotel policies and procedures.
We require a contact phone number and email address. These will not be shared and the only contact will concern your stay with us. We will try to contact you if you have not checked in or contacted us by 9pm. If we can not contact you then we will assume you are not showing and you will be charged the full price of your stay.
Check-in time is any time between 2pm and 9pm on your arrival day and check-out time is before 11:00 a.m. Guests who wish to arrive outside of those hours please make prior arrangements with the Inn as soon as possible.
Late Check In is available with prior arrangements and will incur extra costs of $25.00 per hour after 10pm. You must also make prior arrangements with the Inn before hand by emailing or calling.
We are a non smoking building and we have smoking areas on the front porches. If you decide to smoke in the rooms you will incur a minimum $250.00 cleaning fee on your Credit Card on file.
Tilton Inn and Onions Pub and Restaurant is a non smoking building. We reserve the right to add any extra charges if you smoke in your room. The clean up is very extensive and time consuming to eliminate the smell of smoke. You can smoke on 2nd floor front porch.
Tilton Inn is pet friendly. There is a $50.00 charge per stay and we reserve the right to charge any extra to clean any soiling your pet causes or to repair any damage your pet may cause.
Payment Policy
We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover cards only and cash. We require a 1 night nonrefundable deposit when booking your reservation and the remainder amount will be charged 14 days before arrival, and will become nonrefundable.
Cancellation Policy
All hotel room reservations have a 14 day cancellation policy less the 1 day nonrefundable deposit unless otherwise noted. Any changes to your reservation must be done 14 days prior to your arrival date. Reservations that are not cancelled within 14 days are subject to be charged the full amount of your reservation plus tax.
