An ancient coaching inn, the White Horse is mentioned in Chaucer's Canterbury Tales.
Set in the heart of the Garden of England and surrounded by orchards and hop gardens, the pub has a long tradition of warm and friendly hospitality, although this view may not have been shared by the 19th century rioters sentenced to death in the pub when it was used as a courtroom.
Visitors today can enjoy the authentic atmosphere of an historic inn at the same time as relaxing in comfort and enjoying the excellent food, wines, beers - and service.

Dogs are welcome, and may stay in certain hotel rooms subject to a £15 charge. they must remain on a lead in all parts of the hotel at all times, especially in the garden. Please let us know if you wish to bring your dog in advance.
Two night minimum stay may apply on Saturday nights.
Cancellation policy - We require 48 hours notice for cancellations. If cancelled after 11am 48 hours before your stay, the whole cost of your booking may apply.

A valid credit or debit is required to secure all bookings. Full payment or deposit (by arrangement) due on booking. If a card is not valid the booking will not be honoured.
Once a booking is made and card details accepted, a contract will be in existence and you are advised to take out holiday insurance as you are now liable for the amount stated.
Group booking terms - Bookings of three or more rooms are subject to our group booking terms and conditions.
Group bookings need to be held on a valid credit or debit card. You’ll find our payment terms below:
• 6 rooms or less, we’ll need full payment 14 days before arrival. This is non-refundable, but you can cancel your booking free of charge before this time.
• 6 rooms or more, we’ll need a 50% deposit 28 days before arrival and the balance 14 days before arrival. These payments are non-refundable, but you can cancel your booking free of charge before we take a deposit.
We reserve the right to treat all or any individual or series of bookings amounting to 3 or more rooms that are made online by the same party/lead guest covering the same nights of stay at the White Horse Inn, as one group booking and Group Booking Terms shall apply to such group bookings.

48 hours notice is required to receive a full refund on the booking and if less than 48 hours notice is given, you are not eligible to receive a refund.
If booking on a non refundable room rate, no refund is eligible.
All refunds are made at the managers discretion.
