This is the official booking site for Hale 'Ohu Bed & Breakfast. Book direct with us and save! Select your arrival date above to view rates and availability. There is a two-night minimum. One-night reservations are only available when there is a gap between bookings.

Hale 'Ohu (the house in the mist) is a boutique, adults-only bed & breakfast located on the historic Lyman summer estate that was established in 1886. Our rainforest retreat is centrally located in Volcano Village and just five minutes from Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park's entrance. The three B&B rooms are in a separate building from the historic main house/owner's residence. Each room has a private entrance, en-suite bathroom, breakfast nook and patio. Rate always includes continental in-room breakfast, daily housekeeping, high-speed Wi-Fi and parking. Guests are encouraged to explore the lush botanical gardens and our Rainforest Walk set on five beautiful acres.

Conditions générales

Check-in and Check-Out Information:
• Check-in is from 3 to 5 p.m. (as of April 1, 2023). For a personal check-in, plan to arrive between these times.
• After 5 p.m., only self-check-in is available. Instructions will be posted on the door to the room you reserved. If you arrive after 5 p.m., go directly to the room you reserved. Email reservations@haleohu.com or call us at +1.808.731.5243 (landline/no SMS) before 5 p.m. if you need the name of the room.
• The Reception Desk is located on the lanai/porch at the main house/owner's residence (75 feet from the parking area).
• Our three B&B rooms are located in the green building next to the parking lot. Each room has a private entry and is well marked. There is also a directional sign on the side of the green building.
• Check-out is 11 a.m. Express check-out is available.

B&B Policies:
• Each room is limited to two adults only. We cannot accommodate additional occupants including children. Children under 18 years of age are not allowed at this adults-only property.
• We are a non-smoking property. Smoking (of any kind) is not allowed in the room, on the patio or in the garden area. This policy is enforced with a $250 fee, so that we can provide a smoke-free environment to all guests.
• As a small destination property, cancellation policies are strictly enforced. Be sure to review your confirmation for the cancellation policy you agreed to at the time of booking. We encourage guests to purchase travel insurance to cover cancellation fees if your travel plans change.
• Reservation must be paid in full prior to arrival date.

Conditions de paiement

For reservations booked directly with Hale 'Ohu :
• No deposit is required at the time of booking.
• The full reservation amount will be processed seven (7) days before arrival with the credit card provided when booked. This payment is non-refundable.
• Invalid credit card will result in cancellation.

Reservations made via a third party online travel agency such as Expedia or Booking.com, please refer to the deposit/pre-payment policy outlined on those sites.

Conditions d'annulation

For reservations booked directly with Hale 'Ohu:
• Cancellations received eight (8) days or more before arrival: 100% refund.
• Cancellations received seven (7) days or less before arrival: No refund. Total amount of reservation will be forfeited.

Reservations made via a third party online travel agency such as Expedia or Booking.com, please refer to the cancellation policy outlined on those sites.

Refunds can only be issued to the original form of payment.
