Lily Creek lodge is nestled in a forested Valley in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains only an hour drive from downtown Atlanta, less than 5 miles from the Historic Downtown Dahlonega and less than 15 miles to the North Georgia Premium Outlets.
A European style lodge located in the heart of North Georgia wine country, Lily Creek’s simple Alpine chalet exterior and natural woodland landscape belie the quiet sophistication of the eclectic interior. All rooms and suites have entrances separate from the lodge’s common areas.
At the lodge, we offer a quiet retreat where each of our uniquely furnished rooms depicts a geographical or period theme. Fine antiques, collectibles and artwork coupled with high quality linens yield an ambiance of rustic elegance that you are sure to enjoy.
The lodge amenities include an arch stone fireplace in the gathering room where on a cold night you can relax and enjoy a blazing fire while reading, playing games or reliving the days adventures. On a warm day you can bask under the sun on the deck, take shelter in the gazebo or peer out over the wooded landscape from the treehouse. The property is a wildlife sanctuary and the home of mini flora and fauna found only in this mountain ecology. Bring your binoculars and observe the humming birds, finches, hawks and woodpeckers, as well as a myriad of butterflies, raccoons, rabbits, squirrels, turtles and deer that may cross your path in the early morning.
The lodge is a year round retreat with each change of the seasons providing its own special magic. In spring, the delicate pinks of wild honeysuckle and the brilliant orange blossoms of the flame azalea accentuate the white flowering Dogwood. Our peaches, figs, pears, apples, blackberries and blueberries also in bloom. In the summer, the fruit is ripe and the lush greens and the delightfully cool evenings provide our guests with the respite from life’s cares. Fall brings nature’s palette to life when the leaves change and the mountains are painted in spectacular reds, yellows and oranges. Winter opens new vistas on the hardwoods as they shed their leaves. This is an ideal time to observe the native wildlife and enjoy the beautiful views. All water for drinking, bathing and recreation comes from our own spring. The swimming pool has a rushing waterfall with an outdoor pavilion. NO SMOKING is permitted inside the lodge.
Your adventures away from the lodge should include a visit to Dahlonega, site of the nation’s first gold rush in the late 1820s, a visit to the gold museum and historic town square where you will find many art, antique and craft stores, a wine tour at one of the many local wineries, an evening at the Holly Theater, and a dinner at any one of the area restaurants. This region in the heart of North Georgia wine country is the gateway to the scenic beauty of the Appalachian mountain range and is crossed by the Chestatee and Etowah rivers which are ideal for rafting, kayaking and canoeing. Other activities in the area include hiking, fishing, mountain biking, horseback riding and golf. And don’t forget to visit Amicalola Falls, the highest waterfall in the Eastern US.
